Home Reviews HowTo	Microsoft Publisher Product Review I’m rather frugal. In fact, I’ve been called cheap and stingy and a few other words. I just can’t see spending good money on software that I will only use once or twice. I mean, why spend $100 on software when you can do the same thing with a little creativity? Unless you own a business, you have little need for a software program like Microsoft Publisher. That line of thinking was a big mistake. The templates that are provided with Publisher make any task easy. I originally started using Publisher to publish our Computer User Group’s newsletter, but soon found many uses for the program.
	Making newsletters was simple. Just pick from one of the many designs and start adding content. Use your own pictures or use one of the many provided. This was much easier than trying to keep everything aligned by using inferior software (no names mentioned).
I had only had the program installed for about a week when I had the opportunity to use it to make a greeting card. Within 15 minutes, the card was designed, printed and signed. Having used greeting card software in the past, 15 minutes is record time. Usually it is about an hour of cussing and pulling my hair out…. Then off to the store for a purchased one. Publisher not only made it easy. It was free! Business owners will find many of the features invaluable. Now you can have matching business cards and letterhead. You can create professional looking menus, programs, price lists, brochures and more. Need to create invoices or statements? It's’ as easy as choosing your design and typing your info. The program does all the work. For home use you can create garage sale flyers, lost pet flyers or just about any type of advertisement you can think of. Greeting cards and invitations are a cinch. I’ve made CD and disk labels for all those unlabeled disks laying around. I wish that I’d bought Microsoft Publisher a long time ago. In a short time, I can’t imagine computing without it.
